Crimson Luxe Red by Bicycle | Playing Card Review

– Intro / Brief Overview

What’s up everybody and welcome to Magic For Beginners, my name is Keith and in today’s video we’re going to be looking at these amazing cards from bicycle playing cards that are the red foil back crimson deck. These are also available in a blue foil too which is called the cobalt blue deck. This is a red rider back deck but with the added bonus of a shiny foil colour. This is the MetalLuxe technology which means the cards are stamped with real metal to achieve and dazzling shine.

– How Much Are They?

How much is a deck of these cards then? These can be grabbed from a number of different online magic shops for about ten to twelve pounds depending on which place you go to. As I record this video, they’re actually in the sale at WH Smith’s for only £9 too so that’s a bit of a bargain.!

– Tuck Case

Let’s talk about the tuck case and for this one, you have a Matt finish tuck box which is a black design and has some embossed hearts on the box too. There’s a large spade design in red along with the bicycle logo and foil back crimson text on the front. The back features the red foil design and the sides has the MetalLuxe copyright and the air cushion finish and made in USA text. The bottom has the usual USPCC as copy and the top mentions they’re poker sized too.

– Backs Of Cards

The back of the cards is what does it for me, it’s like a standard red back bicycle rider back deck but it’s shiny. I remember seeing these in some ones video and I knew I had to get a deck as they’re amazing for the camera. Again it’s a standard bicycle rider back style so it’s something people are used to, but gives off some high end looks with the foil design too and just is amazing I have to say.

– Additional Cards?

For additional cards, you get your two jokers which aren’t identical, one is a a black and white joker and the other is the same but with some red and grey colouring so you could use them for some colour changes tricks. You also get two bicycle advert cards which have the foil backing like the rest of the cards but have an info card about the MetalLuxe and the other is about bicycle games.

Before we look through the deck, I want to say thank you to everyone who has already subscribed and if you haven’t yet and you’ve enjoyed the video, you know what to do! Let’s jump back into the video.

– Looking Through The Deck

Looking through the faces of the decks, the thing which sticks out for me is that the numbers are much more bolder than a standard deck which seem much sharper when viewing the deck. The court cards are made up of black, grey and red design and seem a bit more muted than a standard deck which isn’t too bad but I would have preferred the front of the court cards similar to a standard deck.

– How Do They Handle?

The cards are by USPCC and they’re printed on premium card stock and uses the air cushion finish which means that right out of the box you can use these for sleights, tricks and anything you want to, as you’d expect from any bicycle deck of cards. They shuffled fine and great and faro nice and easy too. I was a bit sceptical about the foil as sometimes it makes the deck much harder to use but doesn’t seem be the case with this one.

– Conclusions

Overall I love the look of the back of the deck and the foil really shimmers in videos which is fantastic and if you want something a little different for maybe higher end client jobs or videos for socials then this will do just that. As stated I’d have preferred standard court cards rather than these recoloured ones but it’s something I’m will to live with as the back is just so nice.

If you want to see anymore deck reviews, I have a bunch more on the channel and can be found in the description or on the screen so just follow those to see more and until next time, see ya!
